I Am Moving, I Am Learning

I Am Moving, I Am (IMIL) is a proactive approach for addressing childhood obesity. IMIL seeks to increase moderate to vigorous physical activity everyday, improve the quality of movement activities intentionally planned and facilitated by adults, and promote healthy food choices everyday. This module presents a brief overview of the IMIL approach. Since it’s development, IMIL has expanded by including best practices for infants and toddlers, new music, and refreshed intensity.

Module Objectives:
  • Identify the overarching goals of the IMIL project.
  • Describe Choosy Kids contribution to the IMIL project.
  • Identify the national, daily physical activity guidelines for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers.
  • Describe the Movement Vocabulary Framework.
  • Locate resources to assist in the implementation of the IMIL philosophy.
